TUBES IN MY EARS

Wednesday 10/22/2008 Jonathan had tubes put in his ears.
Our check-in time at the surgery center was 5:30 a.m. I remember the nurse calling to tell us our appointment time and my reaction was drop-jaw. I informed the nurse that I wasn't sure what 5:30 a.m. looked like. Anyway the night before the surgery we went to bed normal time. At 2:00 a.m. Jonathan woke up crying, scratch that, sobbing and coughing his seal-cough. I got up and went into his room and stood by his bed and listened. He was really congested and having a hard time breathing (of course this happens the day before surgery). Steve and I got the humidifier going and got Jonas back to sleep. Only a couple of hours later we were up and at the surgery center. Once Jonathan got called back the surgery time only took 10-15 minutes. We went back to recovery while Jonathan was coming out of anesthesia. He cried and cried. But after a short while was back to sleep and we were driving home. At home Jonathan and myself laid in my bed and slept on and off until 11:45 a.m. At that time Jonathan got up and announced that he was going to play.

Jonathan hasn't stopped since. His cough is improving and plays with zeal and fervor.

We are grateful that the tubes are in and we are excited that Jonathan may feel better, hear better, and possibly speak better. O the possibilities.

"Teachor, teachor, teachor...I've got toooobes in my eors." Anybody that knows me knows this quote. Accent and all.
