Deason +1

SOPHIE ELISABETH DEASON

Our newest family member, Sophie Elisabeth Deason, is here. Our daughter was born on Februrary 15, 2010 at 2:49 p.m. She was 6lbs 15ozs and 20.5 inches long.
Her arrival into this world came after 31 hours of labor and was lucky to have been born in a hospital.
Labor started on Sunday 2-14-10. That evening around 11:00p.m., I went to the hospital. There, a nurse, checked my progress and sadly announced that I was dialated to a 1 and that the doctor was releasing me to go home. I was directed to return when my contractions were consistantly 3-5 minutes apart for at least an hour. The nurse gave me 2 shots of Demerol to assist with my getting some rest. The effects the drug totally wore off in no less than 2 hours.
So Monday, the contractions continued. Finally, Steve convinced me that we should go to the hospital (contractions were still not consistant).
We got the hospital around 2:20ish 2:30ish. Our hospital visit was quite the event. Nurses were talking about me in the hallways.
25 minutes after stepping foot into the hospital, Sophie was born after only three pushes.
She's finally here and beautiful. She looks like me with a pug little nose, dark hair, and big dark eyes.
Jonathan was very excited to be a big brother. Jonathan was so sweet when Sophie was born. He picked flowers for both me and his new little sister.

We are absolutely blessed to have this new little girl in our lives.
