Blog Slacker

After many months of blog slacking, I am back. During the past few months there didn't seem to be anything real worthy of taking time to create a blog post. Looking back upon those same months, retrospecitvely, I can see that there is much to update.

First (and seemingly most important) - We are having another baby! Yes it is true. I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and not loving it. I just don't enjoy pregnancy.
This pregnancy is so much different than when I was pregnant with Jonathan. This second time around I had morning sickness the first few months, I have constant headaches that seem to last for days on end, and lastly, I am bone tired. Maybe it doesn't help that I am 32 years old soon to be 33.
The due date for this baby is February 17, 2010. An ultrasound is scheduled for next Tuesday and we will soon find out if we are having a boy or a girl (my bet is on a girl).
We have told Jonathan that there is a baby in my tummy. He seemed to remember this and likes to share with everyone we come into contact with. His announcement is a great icebreaker.

Second, I am going to Rome on November 1, 2009. Yes, I am not about to let a silly pregnancy keep me from the Eternal City. My mom and I are going together and we are really excited. WE will be there from November 1, 2009 through November 8, 2009. I am somewhat comforted by the idea that my mom has been there once before but am still really nervous about traveling while 6 months pregnant in a country where little to no English is spoken. It will be an adventure. I will post pictures after our adventure.

Third, Jonathan started Pre-K this school year (08/28/09). I admit that I was so nervous for him; so nervous that I didn't sleep the night before. But, silly me. Jonathan loves "big boy school". He has really blossomed after starting school. He is excited to go to school and excited to learn. He is one smart cookie. The teacher even told me one day that he is the only kid in the entire class that knows all his letters, both upper and lower case, and their sounds. Let it be known that Jonathan is still three in a class full of four-year-olds. Jonathan loves to spell his name, mom, dad, Apollo, and Xander (his friend). We have started to read books together and he is soaking it up and can read some really simple books. It is so exciting to watch him grow.
